Isn’t it funny that what defines humans is the capacity to create, and at the same time there’s people who still refuse to admire the absurdness of it?

the bird embodiment of abandonment

Nowadays they’re most likely to be called dirty and dumb sky rats and
considered as nothing more than the disease carriers. Pigeons.
In the public parks we more often lock the eye on the sign that says
DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS.

Pigeons- the Messengers.
Historically, they had been used by many nations since the very early days.
Carriers of love, doves patiently passed the letters from lover to lover.
Long way delivering messages even in the wartime - even from the front lines.
From ships to lands, and in sieges, they landed with what little big knowledge
their wings brought.

The news agencies & financial institutions in the cities as big and great as
NYC competitively used pigeons, relying on the wings to get the freshest
news. They even stepped their little three-toed feet into helping The
Rothshilds make a fortune.

Loved, fed, cared for and used up till not - until the technology moved fast
forward into replacing each and making pigeons unnecessary.
The hearts that used to beat in humankind’s favour could’ve stopped now and
wouldn't make much of a difference.

- Tu deviens responsable pour toujours de ce que tu as apprivoisé.
[Le petit Prince, Antoine de Saint Exupéry] translates to
“You become forever responsible for what you have tamed.”
So in a way, did pigeons unfold the real face of mankind?
Cruel and notkind.

Born to have all the freedom in the world, their wings can carry them on for
miles and miles. Freedom that gifted them domestication, gave them homes
and later on led to being abandoned.
Their loss of value is displayed right in front of everybody - a humiliating act -
as they’ve become beggars and thieves looking for food and a shelter in the
cold, making a creature as simple as a bird - a pigeon - into a complex
embodiment of human ingratitude & abandonment issues.
