MAR VILLEYRA
in ¨Never been good at hiding¨
When thinking about the shoot I knew I wanted something like a poster, a picture, a frame, ...? Something that could mimick a window in a sense. So I thought, why not experiment even more?
Just then Mar came to my mind: an artist that specializes in spaces and textures. Everything she makes has this ethereal and dreamy magic in it.
I explained my idea and she came up with this three canvases made with wax and knitted wire, to make it seem like a window to this “attic” (her own mind) looking straight to herself.
The first one is like a foggy window; looking from the distance.
The second one reminds of her looking through a “fence”, trapped somewhere where she can only look to the outside.
And the third one resambles an opaque mirror - was made for breaking the thick layer between the portrait and the outside: breaking free of this self-imposed fear and shame, revealing the creative and vivid true self.
- details and first tries!!!-
Mar is selling three final canvases on the website!
